Biography of Abdel Hakim Hassainate
A contemporary Moroccan painter based in Rabat, Abdel Hakim Hassainate develops an expressive abstraction shaped by light, nature and calligraphic traces.
Born in Meknes in 1977 and based in Rabat, he explores the encounter between matter and sensation through painting, training and exhibitions in Morocco and abroad.
The canvas is conceived as a visual event rather than an image. Forms remain in transformation between fullness and emptiness, density and transparency.
Career and recognition
Since his first solo exhibition, “Nessaïm”, at the Mohammed V National Theatre in 2021, his work has been presented in Rabat, Salé, Tetouan, Sofia, Burgas and Patras.
